::Biografia::

VULCANO is one of the leading bands of Black / Death Metal from Brazil . It is considered the first extreme Metal band of the country and possibly the South American continent .

Founded in 1981 , difficult time when Brazil was going through a strong political , social , economic and musical transition. Emerged in Europe the NWOBHM bands that revolutionize traditional Metal creating a more aggressive sound that became known as Black Metal , Death Metal . And so began the history of this band that historically helped to root and spread Heavy Metal in Brazil and it is considered the first band of Black / Death throughout Latin America, his first record was between ‘82 and ‘83 with 7" EP "Om Pushne Namah" sung in Portuguese which is now a relic of the Brazilian underground Metal.

The shows were popping up, but the difficulties were immense, the band had to produce their own shows even paste the posters on poles and fences. In ‘84 released the demo-tape "Devil on My Roof " .

The first lineup changes begin to emerge and the band still could not enter the closed setting of São Paulo as Metal. Born in Santos, the VULCANO didn't get play São Paulo, a fact that led to record the album “LIVE!” in the year 1985. Recorded in August in the city of Americana, without any mix, was the first live album of Metal released in Brazil and led to the public all aggressive Heavy Metal generated Zhema on bass, Soto Junior on guitar , Zé Flávio in rhythm guitar , Laudir Piloni on drums and Angel on vocals. And it was with this lineup that appeared the first disc of Brazilian Black Metal "Bloody Vengeance" in 1986, shocking the minds of many. A gloomy, dark disc with cryptic, indirect and letters in day today sounds more current than ever . In the following year the band released the "Anthropophagy" (‘87) and "Who Are The True" (‘88) which was a cry of revolt to a situation that had been imposed by a media mercenary who did not live the things that happened in underground and wanted the band became more popular , scalded what was happening in the ‘90s. Against this state of things and the Vulcano throws in the ‘90 "RatRace" and decide to take a break to put the ideas in order. In this period of reflection VULCANO still played some shows, but without compromise. It was at this time that the label Cogumelo Records solves re-released cd discs of the band and so VULCANO resumes its path . In December 2001 are taken by surprise with the death of Soto Jr. (guitar) victim of high pressure, was a great loss for the years of friendship and experiences within the Brazilian underground scene. In 2003 VULCANO recording a new album entitled "Tales From The Black Book", this album redeems all the fury of the ‘80 accumulated by all these years of silence. Bringing back a legend called VULCANO.

In 2006 VULCANO released 2 new songs in a split vinyl with Nifelheim (Sweden), with the songs The Evil Always Return and Suffered Souls.

In 2009 it´s released the 6th studio album, "Five Skulls and One Chalice" by Cogumelo Recs, last to feature vocalist Angel. In early 2010, Luiz Carlos Louzada come back as the main vocalist and go into the 1st Vulcano european tour, called "Bloody Vengeance in Europe Tour 2010" through 11 countries with 16 shows, which exceed the expectations of the public. In early 2011, drummer Arthur Justo left the band, and Arthur Von Barbarian returns definitively, recording the new album "Drowning in Blood" which is released in September of the same year, consolidating VULCANO as one of the most creative bands and successful musically. Another European tour in 2012, titled "You Were Warned, Vulcano Strikes Again! European Tour 2012", crossing 10 countries, with 21 shows in 25 days at the Old Continent.

In April 2013 it´s released the album "The Man The Key The Beast", one of the three best albums of the year according to the specialized media, and in the same month, the band part for the 3rd European tour alongside the swedish guys of NIFELHEIM with serbians The STONE, as support band. When they return home, Vulcano did a mini-tour with the British veterans Avenger UK, and then bassist Diaz announced his departure from the group, whereupon Ivan Pellicciotti is effected as the new bassist and the band becomes a quartet.

Without rest, they depart to produce another album and in July / 2014, Vulcano released their 9th studio full-length "Wholly Wicked" through a partnership between the Renegados Recs and the new São Paulo label Thrash S / A. In the same year, they run by fourth time to Europe in the "Evil Always Returns Tour" again with Nifelheim, with Croatia's War-Head for support. 16 shows in 3 weeks through 9 countries, culminating in a climactic presentation in London, for the second time in the acclaimed "Live Evil Fest". During the tour, released their second live album of the group, entitled "Vulcano Live II - Stockholm Stormed" recorded in Stockholm / Sweden, during the 2013 european tour, and released in Europe by the new English label Cult of Horus Recs.

In 2015, the group visits the US in an exclusive show at all important "Maryland Deathfest," playing alongside bastions of extreme metal as Bulldozer, Razor, Arcturus, Triptykon, Bloodbath ... Also finalize one more studio work, the mcd " The Awakening of an Ancient and Wicked Soul "whose title track is a conceptual work, consisting of 9 interconnected parts, based on a trilogy written by Carli Cooper, Zhema Rodero and Fabiano Barroso. This work should be released later in 1st half of 2016 and marks the debut of new guitarist Gerson Fajardo, added to the group at the end of 2015. Also, In the fourth quarter 2015 start is given to the production of a documentary on the 35 years of band , directed by Wladimyr Cruz (responsible for the documentary "Woodstock Discos - Mais que uma Loja") in conjunction with JustDesign Productions.

In early 2016, Ivan Pellicciotti left the band and bassist Diaz rejoined the group after almost three years out of Vulcano. That same year, they went on their fifth European tour, alongside The Grief (Ecuador) and Warfect (Sweden) through Roadmaster Booking, with 27 shows in 30 days on the road. On their return to Brazil, the film "Os Portais do Inferno se Abrem - A História do Vulcano" (The Gates of Hell Open - The Story of Vulcan) is released, with screenings in cinemas, followed by the release of a DVD version (which includes as a bonus, in its entirety, the concert performed at "Fortaleza Open Air", held on January 22, 2016, in Fortaleza/CE). At the end of 2016, they simultaneously released "The Awakening of an Ancient and Wicked Soul - Trilogy" and the new studio album "XIV" on digital platforms.

At the beginning of 2017, the digipack version of the new album "XIV" will hit the market. The band continued to tour throughout the year, at the same time as their movie was shown on cable TV, exposing their story to an audience not used to extreme music, but who identified with the perseverance of three and a half decades of history. The end of the tour gave the group their third official live album.

Released at the beginning of 2018, the double album "Live III: From Headbangers to Headbangers" covers the band's long career in 23 songs. They began a new tour in support of the newly released live album and, in the first half of the year, filmed a concert at Sesc Pompéia (in São Paulo).

At the beginning of 2019, Arthur von Barbarian left the group and Bruno Conrado (drummer for the bands Kill Mister and Sinera) took over to fulfill the scheduled dates. Soon after, they signed with Denmark's Mighty Music and began recording their new studio album, as well as confirming their sixth European tour for November 2019, through the European division of the North American agency Artery Global. The “Europe Stormed Tour 2019” passed through 13 countries with 26 shows in 30 days. A week after their return to Brazil, the first single “Bride of Satan” was released to great acclaim with the support of a new video clip.

In January 2020, the 2nd single “Evil Empire” was released, a song the band had already been performing live on the 2019 tour. The following month, the 3rd single “Cybernetic Beast” was released until “Eye in Hell” hit the market in March 2020, an album that put Vulcano in the spotlight in numerous media outlets in the European underground scene in the months that followed, but which, unfortunately, was not supported by a tour, as its release coincided with the start of the global pandemic.

2021 marks the lockdown in the Baixada Santista region, but as soon as the relaxation begins, the band goes into the studio to record the successor to “Eye in Hell”. While the European label prepared the strategy for the new work, the band's new live CD/DVD was finally released in Brazil in September 2021 (a record that, in a way, marked the “farewell” of veteran drummer Arthur von Barbarian). The triple digipack “Majestic Satanic Eruption” contains Vulcano's live CD, as well as the live CD featuring VAZIO (with whom the band shared the stage at the time), and the DVD featuring both performances. In November of the same year, through Danish label Emanzipation Prods (a sub-division of Mighty Music), they released their first single “Ship of Dead” (which was accompanied by a video visualizer). They closed the year with the release of their second single “Trigger of Violence”.

In January 2022, the 3rd single “Vulcano Will Live Forever” is released (with the support of a lyric-video), a reinterpretation that the band made of a song by the band CADAVERISE (from Teresina/PI), whose original version was part of the 3rd demo “The Most Haunted Cemetery Songs” (from 2014), and whose lyrics are a tribute to Vulcano's work. In April, “Stone Orange” was released, the group's longest studio album, with 16 tracks (and 17 tracks in the Brazilian version, via Hellion Records), the result of many musical ideas worked out during the entire period without performing live due to the worldwide pandemic). Little by little, the group resumes its concert schedule, until the three-year stability of the fixed line-up is broken with the departure of bassist Diaz. In his place comes Cleiton “Alcoholic Thrasher” Nunes (guitarist in the bands Funebrö and Necrológio).

In 2023, after 40 years, the debut album “Om Pushne Namah” was re-released in split format with the project Zhema & the Electric Army (where Zhema Rodero re-recorded the 4 songs from the album, alongside other musician friends). With new riffs on the way, the year was balanced between a schedule of shows and new compositions, while the band worked on returning to the USA for a tour between October and November, with the support of Mass Destruction Production (from Atlanta/Georgia). With the gigantic delay in the release of work visas, the band was forced to “abort” the tour, and immediately began the process of recording the next studio album.

At the beginning of 2024, with the album about to be released, guitarist Gerson Fajardo chose to leave the group after almost 9 years. That's when C. Nunes left the bassist's post and took over the 2nd guitar, which made it possible for bassist Ivan Pellicciotti to return, who during the period he was away from the group, continued to work as a sound technician on the albums released by Vulcano. In April 2024, the album “Epilogue” was released on digital platforms, and the physical version was released by High Roller Recs (Germany), with whom the band had previously worked, when in 2012 the album “Tales from the Black Book” (2004) was released in Europe.

2025 began with plans for another tour of Europe (in the second half of the year), in partnership with Dragon Productions (from Germany). But in mid-March, drummer Bruno Conrado suffered a motorcycle accident, which forced him to leave the band until the end of the year due to his injuries; as a result, the group suspended its concert schedule, keeping only a few “one-off” dates, where they will have the support of former drummer Celso VX (who was part of the group between 2004 and 2006).
